How to Plan Ahead for Rain on Your Wedding Day
It’s a week before your wedding and you’re checking the weather app religiously—when that cloud or rain icon appears, panic sets in! Well don’t let it! Make sure to have a backup plan!
Its always best when choosing your venue to make sure to look at and love your backup space just in case.
If you are planning on taking pictures outside, talk with your photographer ahead of time and discuss where they see the best place to take pictures inside. You will want a large enough area for your family and wedding pictures. Look for areas with pretty floor to ceiling windows as those can make for beautiful pictures with rain in the background. As much as no bride wants rain on your wedding try and enjoy it and add some unique details that you wouldn’t get without it raining.
Purchasing some rain boots in your wedding colors would be fun and will allow you to brave the outdoors.
There are also many different types of umbrellas to purchase, Parasols are cute and have a vintage look and they are even good for sunny days! You could also find a clear umbrella, LED light up umbrellas or even umbrellas with floral prints or other designs.
Consider having your hair and makeup artists stick around until after the ceremony to do touch ups just in case there is a break in the rain and you can go outside!
Be flexible with time! Be willing to to take pictures during the reception. Sometimes it can all of sudden stop raining during the reception which would be perfect to go outside and take some night pictures.
Allow your wedding vendor team to work together so you can get the pictures and memories on your wedding day!
At the end of day, you’ll be married, rain or shine so remember to enjoy it!
