How did you two meet or how did he propose?:
My husband and I met at a salsa dancing event in Tempe. He asked me to dance with him, and we automatically hit it off. Shortly after, we started dating and it didn’t take long for me to know that I had found the person that I want to share the rest of my life with. When he proposed, I was so overjoyed to learn that he also felt the same way. My husband proposed to me while we were thousands of feet in the air in a hot air balloon. That will always remain one of the happiest, most breathtaking, and most memorable moments in my life!
Were you happy with the venue?:
My husband and I got married at The Secret Garden. We visited several venues before deciding to book with The Secret Garden, but as soon as we walked into this venue we knew that we had found “the one”. Unlike a lot of the venues that we visited, The Secret Garden did not have that commercial feel; instead, it was very intimate and felt more like home. We fell in love with the beautiful garden and spent an entire year daydreaming about what our garden wedding would be like. I’d have to say that our wedding at The Secret Garden was perfect, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to get married!
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
Our wedding theme was classic and romantic. We chose champagne and burgundy for our wedding colors. We placed three large crystal cylinders with floating candles as our centerpieces, and decorated with burgundy colored rose petals scattered around the vases. Each seat placement had a champagne colored charger plate and a favor (a bronze wine bottle opener that was shaped as a key).
What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day?
I think that it’s very important to remember that you are planning the wedding for YOU and YOUR FIANCE. Many family members or friends will want to tell you how you should or shouldn’t do things, who/what you should include in your wedding, etc., but in the end it is YOUR special day and you have to make decisions that will make you and your fiancé happy. It is the one time in your life in which you get to be a little selfish, and that’s okay. It is impossible to try to make everyone happy and, in the process of trying to do so, you will only get more stressed out.
