How did you two meet or how did he propose?:
We met through a mutual friend at my birthday dinner. He proposed to me on a family trip to Puerto Rico for his sister’s wedding. His whole family was in on the surprise, he even invited my family so they could be part of the special day.
Were you happy with the venue?:
We were extremely happy with Aldea. The staff was more than we could have ever asked for, taking care of every detail without us ever having to think about it. They were genuinely just as excited as we were for our big day, you can tell the staff truly enjoys what they do and cares about every couple that chooses their venue to celebrate.
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
Colors: Navy, Gold, hints of burnt orange and ivory. The theme was vintage glam. Table setting: ivory table cloth, gold chasers. The center pieces included vintage bird cages with hanging glass birds. Around the bird cages were candle holders varying in height, texture and color. Some were gold others were silver or bronze. We personalized the name of each table with something that had to do with our relationship. For example one table was namee Puerto Rico to represent where we were engaged. Every table had a meaning.
What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day? First, breathe, it will all be perfect! No one else but you knows what was “supposed” to be, only you. So in everyone’s eyes it was/is perfect. Second, remember this day is the day you chose to gather your friends and family to celebrate the love you and your fiancé have for each other, in the end that’s all that matters. Smile, take a million pictures and enjoy your day!
Tell us about your photographer. Why did you choose this photographer? Where you happy with the whole experience?
We chose Steponme photography for one simple reason, her photos captured genuine moments. This was our first professional photo shoot so I was a little nervous. Stephanie made us feel comfortable from the very beginning when we first interviewed her; she answered every question I had and didn’t just push her pricing. She was open to any ideas we had and was simply amazing! I would recommend her to anyone wanting to capture the true essence of their wedding.
