How did you two meet or how did he propose?:
Patrick proposed when we were on a family vacation in Del Mar, California. We went to dinner at a beautiful restaurant along the beach. A year prior, Patrick and I took a vacation to California and had dinner at this specific restaurant. I brought up this restaurant for a year because the food was amazing I loved the location. Because of this, he decided that this was a great place to go to dinner before the proposal. After dinner, we walked along the beach at sunset and when we were alone, he started pouring his heart out to me. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him; of course, I said, "yes!"
Were you happy with the venue?:
Our wedding venue could not have been more perfect. I absolutely loved every aspect of the location. The all inclusive venue made the day go very smooth and the staff was extremely helpful. The venue is extremely eclectic and has a gorgeous garden vibe. It was a beautiful place to escape without leaving Phoenix, Arizona.
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
Choosing a color scheme was quite difficult. My dress, which I found one week after getting engaged, was a blush color. Because we couldn't find a color that didn't clash with my blush dress, our color scheme wasn't specific. I had my bridesmaids in ivory, the groomsmen in tan suits, and my flower girl in blush. All of our flowers were neutral and I went with a garden theme. We decided to make wood stands for our centerpieces that held flowers up, as if there were flower trees on the tables. We even carved love quotes and our names into the wood stands. On each place setting, there was a small watering can that was filled with candy and said, "Let love grow." Our non-specific color garden theme turned out gorgeous.
What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day?:
My biggest piece of advice for brides is to remember what this day is all about. Patrick and I had a lot of fun planning our wedding together (yes, even Patrick enjoyed it). I made sure that everything was laid back and if something didn't go as planned, I remembered that no guest would know anyways. We both did what we wanted and made sure that this process was all about us starting our new lives together. It was all about us and our strong relationship, not the cake or the flowers; everything fell into place and the day could not have been more gorgeous. Relax and enjoy the process.
