How did you two meet or how did he propose?:
Ryan planned a beautiful day at Saguaro Lake where we and our two dog best friends hiked Butcher Jones trail. We could not have asked for a more gorgeous day. The Arizona weather was perfect. After two miles of hiking we reached a nice bank by the lake. It felt like our own private little beach. We were the only two people there. While I was watching our crazy dog (Peridot) swim in the lake, my little Ruby came running up to me with a red sign around her neck. At first I was confused until Ryan got down on one knee and proposed. How could I say no....he planned the most perfect day!!
Were you happy with the venue?:
We were very happy with the venue. This was only venue we visited prior to the wedding and fell in love with the area. We had a lot of out of town guests so it was wonderful for them to experience the Arizona desert landscape and the peace and calm and serenity of the resort. We had planned for the ceremony and the reception be outside but due to weather the venue accommodated us and we were able to move the reception inside but still have the ceremony outside.
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
Colors featured were deep red and black. We went with a Tuscan theme accented by modern touches. Much of the wedding décor was inspired by the freshness of greenery as evidenced by how we incorporated fresh herbs into the container garden centerpieces filled with a variety of herb plants and lushness of green moss. Guest favors were hand-bottled, herb infused olive oils.
What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day?
Relax and enjoy every second of your wedding day. Your big day flies by too fast…put all the stress and trivial items behind you and just enjoy.
