1. How did you two meet? Sean and I met at my brother’s house – one week before thanksgiving 2012. A night that was supposed to be an ordinary night of going out with friends turned into a night we would never forget. Dancing, drinks and laughter eventually led us to our first date. From there, the rest was history!

2. Tell us about the proposal. The proposal was perfect. It was Saturday, April 25, 2015 and Sean and I were back in Scottsdale, AZ celebrating my grandmas 92nd birthday party; a party my family threw for her annually. After the party, Sean had planned a date night for just the two of us at the Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale, AZ. We went for a ride on the Gondola, and just as we turned the corner rain started to drizzle and a rainbow appeared. As if it was a sign from Heaven, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Utter disbelief combined with some happy tears, while repeatedly asking “are you serious?!,” and lots of smiles, I said yes! When the Gondola docked my whole family was waiting anxiously to see the good news and congratulate and celebrate with us.

3. Were you happy with the venue? Yes, the venue was beautiful and the staff was very accommodating.

4. Describe the theme and color scheme of your wedding, and any favorite details (ceremony and/or reception) you included in your special day. I would describe the theme of our wedding to be Classic Romance. Our color scheme was light pink, white and plum. The best part of the wedding was 3 days prior both families were in town. They worked well together to ensure every intricate detail of the wedding was carried out so we would have a wedding that truly portrayed what we represent united as a couple, while reflecting our unique style. The most sentimental aspect, was the inclusion of my family’s Hispanic culture into our wedding day - during the ceremony we incorporated a wedding lasso and the tradition of wedding coins, arras. The Wedding lasso symbolizes lifetime unity and a symbol of marital protection. The loops formed when placed on us signify the love for one another. The exchange of the wedding coins, arras represent the grooms promise to provide for his family and the bride’s trust in his ability to do so.

5. What words of advice would you give other couples planning their big day? Be present and enjoy every moment - the engagement, the planning of the wedding (dont sweat the small stuff), celebrations leading up to the big day and the wedding day itself. It all goes by way too quickly! I also highly recommend hiring a wedding coordinator (even if it’s only day of).

6. Tell us about your photographer: Why did you choose this photographer and were you happy with the whole experience? We chose Live My Life Photography for a variety of reasons. She immediately made us feel comfortable as we talked about every aspect of our wedding day - she didn’t just ask about photography but opened my eyes to other details of the wedding process that may have been overlooked. She seemed genuinely interested in our special day. The day of the wedding Taryn took charge and kept us all on our timeline among the chaos and made sure we got all the pictures we requested. We were very pleased with the whole experience.
