How did you two meet or how did he propose? We met our freshman year at ASU in our very first college class. I remember seeing him for the first time and thinking how cute he was. He asked me out shortly after we ran into each other outside my dorm room since we chatted for over 20 minutes. He was cute and funny....I was sold. We had been together for 12 years, living together for 5, when he proposed under a waterfall on a trip to Ireland in May, 2012. It was the best day ever and we were married exactly one year later in May. It never gets old, and we still laugh together all the time...and now we are expecting a baby girl this coming May.
Were you happy with the venue? Very happy with the venue. The setting was beautiful, organic and exactly what we wanted. Lynn, our coordinator at Copperwynd, was very professional and took care of us very effortlessly. I did not have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding and everything went smoothly and exactly as planned.
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: The theme was meant to be intimate, elegant, and modern. The color scheme we chose was corral, aqua blue, and charcoal for a nice contrast to the lush green surroundings of Copperwynd's grounds. I chose table settings that were cylinders of water filled with blue branches lit up with candles and blue lighting surrounded by corral-colored rose petals.
What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day? I would advise other brides to take the time to get exactly what you want, be diligent about making a timeline of completing tasks on time, making to-do lists, and tackle the big stuff first and allow the details to come later, but try to relax and enjoy every moment because it is done before you know it!
Tell us about your photographer. Why did you choose this photographer? Were you happy with the whole experience? We chose Marnee Marriott because she came highly recommended for bright, colorful photos and her work was beautiful in everything that I saw before we decided to use her as a photographer. I was very happy with the whole experience. Our engagement photos were fantastic and the wedding photographs definitely did not disappoint.
