By definition, a destination wedding is any wedding that is held away from the couple’s hometown. Destination weddings are often much more intimate and give the couple and their guests a chance to celebrate in an extraordinarily beautiful location. That’s why so many couples travel from both near and far to say their vows here in our state.
Ease of Travel – Arizona has three international airports (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Tucson and Yuma) as well as the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway and Flagstaff Pulliam airports, making it easy for your guests to travel here.
Diversity of Scenery – In addition to the beauty of the Sonoran Desert in central and southern Arizona, there are the mountains and pine forests of the northern and eastern parts of the state as well as the breathtaking red rocks of Sedona. People who have never traveled to Arizona are often surprised by how diverse the landscape really is.
Fascinating History – Those who love all things western will enjoy visiting historic sites like Tombstone, the Spanish presidio in Tubac and the state’s ranches and historic hotels.
So Much to Do – From side trips to the Grand Canyon to outdoor adventures like hiking, biking, horseback riding and river tubing to amazing golf courses and spas, there’s an endless number of activities for guests to enjoy.
Great Weather – While it does get hot in the desert areas in the summer, the rest of the year is beautiful and Arizona’s high country can be as much as 20 degrees cooler. Plus, Arizona is one of those rare places where, in the winter, you can golf in the morning and ski or snowboard in the afternoon!
