Desert jewels in Tucson! Our new cover is on newsstands today. The historic and timeless Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort was the perfect Tucson wedding venue for our luxe in the desert Southern Arizona photoshoot! Crain + Co Events and Posh Petals brought together the perfect blend of moody florals and desert backdrops!
Meagan Crain, owner and planner for Crain + Co. Events, knows Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort inside and out. After all, she’s planned dozens of weddings there. So she had plenty of expertise to tap into when she created this gorgeous wedding design for our photoshoot. The Gawnes captured every detail in stunning perfection, right down to the petals in the courtyard fountain!
GORGEOUS GEMS. Meagan chose a color palette of rich jewel tones that play very well together on her tablescape. We love how she used different colors of glassware, then accented them with teal tapers set in concrete candleholders. The pretty pink napkins provide another pop of color and the pewter linens add texture. Even the plum-colored, PB & J-filled macarons play a role in the color palette!
PATINA PERFECTION. Metals with the luster of a patina finish are perfect for this historic Tucson wedding venue setting. You’ll see them in Meagan’s choice of beaded pewter chargers and flower vases. She balanced them with shiny hammered silver flatware.
FLORAL FINERY. Katie McClain of Posh Petals created romantic arrangements that are classic and elegant but still have a touch of the wild side. She combined four types of roses – Maritime, Mondial, spray garden and Playa Blanca – then accented them with organic touches of burgundy scabiosa, clematis and burgundy astrantia. Her petals also make an appearance on the classic, three-tier cake by Ambrosia Cakes that’s covered in smooth, dark grey fondant. The rosy blooms on the envelope liner in the sophisticated black, white, grey and burgundy invitation suite by Brie Dumais of Brie Dumais Designs give guests a hint of the floral beauty yet to come. And Katie’s addition of rose petals and purple hydrangea to the Tucson wedding venue’s fountain make it blooming beautiful!
SITTING PRETTY. Who wouldn’t want to cozy up to the fireplace on the dark blue velvet sofa made even comfier with plush pillows? Two blue agate-topped gold tables add a rich Southwestern touch. And when it’s time to dine, the weathered wood oval chairs add a warm, rustic ambiance to the table.
TIMELESS ELEGANCE. For our bride and groom, Meagan chose classic looks that fit right in with a resort that once hosted legends like Katherine Hepburn and Clark Gable. Our bride’s elaborately embroidered gown with pearl accents is simply stunning (don’t you love the pearl and crystal back necklace?). And you can never go wrong with a classic black tux for the groom.
Meagan and her team started with jewel tones and successfully created a wedding design that sparkles with style at this gorgeous Tucson wedding venue.
