We are so excited to announce the release of our brand new issue! Our first cover is none other than—the ultra chic, retro redefined Scottsdale Wedding Venue, Hotel Valley Ho! Scottsdale’s Hotel Valley Ho has such a fun 50’s vibe that Nicole Arend of Nicole Arend Weddings & Events wanted to make sure her wedding design for this photoshoot was just as fun. So she added her own modern spin to this retro-themed venue.
Nicole was inspired by the hotel’s geometric design, and geometrics make their first appearance here in the crisp invitation suite by Chrissie Lacey of C. Lacey Design. The diamond shapes and patterned lining in the eye-popping orange envelope give guests a big hint that this is really going to be a fun wedding.
The angular wooden Geo divider from Glamour & Woods adds another geometric touch. It gave Yvette Shoemaker of We’re Sweet For You the perfect place to create a really sweet candy station.
When your ceremony site delivers breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain, you want to enhance the view, not block it. So Jodi White-Guthrie of Flowers by Jodi took Nicole’s vision for the space and turned it into a beautiful reality by filling tall, clear vases with forsythia and accenting them with lower arrangements that included orange tulips, yellow pincushion protea, dark blue hydrangeas and Bells of Ireland. She also lined the aisle with brightly-colored Orange Crush, yellow Strike and Circus rose petals to lead the way for our bridal couple.
Nicole gave our bride a sleek, modern look with a bit of retro flair. Her tea length gown helps her show off how well she can rock those orange heels! And look at that dazzling bouquet Jodi fashioned out of brilliant blooms like orange parrot tulips, yellow poppies and Karma Bon Bini dahlias. It even outshines the hotel’s “Sunny” sign! Our groom looks cool and classic in his trim grey suit from Celebrity Tux and Tails, with a pop of color in his orange tie and pocket square. They look so cozy toasting each other with frozen daiquiris in the perfect shade of blue.
Why just have a wedding cake when you can have your cake and sweet treats, too? The three-tiered cake by Silver Rose Bakery has a geometric design at the top that’s nicely balanced with a fun, colorful bottom layer. The cake and mini desserts are sitting pretty on walnut pedestals from Glamour & Woods.
Nicole started with a retro scottsdale wedding venue, mixed in some classic touches then tossed in a few cool throwbacks like a Madmen-worthy, 60s-style bar cart to create one fun wedding design!
