Being given the opportunity to design a photo shoot at the Phoenix Art Museum gave Deidre Laskoskie, owner of Dei-Zinz Fresh Studio, a top Arizona Wedding Florist, an extraordinary canvas to work with. So she partnered with event planner Lisa Foster, owner of Stylish Events by Lisa, to design this photo session using a theme of living art as her inspiration.
To capture the intensity and passion of life and art, Deidre created her floral designs in bold colors. They also provided a dramatic contrast to the neutral palette of the museum. For the ceremony site, she installed a large white frame as a tribute to the venue’s art collection and to showcase the wedding couple as living art within the frame. She then draped the structure with long, lush garlands fashioned out of roses, peonies, calla lilies and delphinium accented with greenery. To continue the living art theme, she gave our bride two pieces of stunning floral jewelry, a ring and matching shoulder piece. Deidre continued the use of her vividly-colored florals in the tall, columnar table arrangements, as accents on the wedding cakes and in the gold spheres from her inventory of rental décor items.
Lisa carried Deidre’s floral theme throughout her suite of paper products. We love how the floral prints virtually pop off the page against the dark backgrounds. The envelope is not only lined with a vibrant floral print, it’s made of plush black velvet. How sumptuous is that? Her elegant tablescape, with its jewel-toned linens, gold flatware and gold-accented glassware, definitely gives off a moody, romantic vibe.
Since Deidre and the members of her team have each earned the designation of Arizona Master Florist, wedding couples can be assured they’re in good hands. To begin the design process, she sends out a consultation form to gather the information she needs to create a customized proposal complete with inspiration photos. Next comes a face-to-face meeting in Deidre’s studio to make any necessary adjustments and to see Deidre’s inventory of arches, backdrops and other rental décor. When it’s time to sign the contract, Deidre pops out the champagne and takes a fun pic to post on social media.
Deidre is passionate about artistry in floral design and believes brides should never be afraid to ask for something different. She and her team of designers are always willing to push the envelope. If you can dream it, she says, they can create it.
