Timeless Elegance in Scottsdale! Our new cover is on newsstands today. This picturesque Scottsdale Wedding Venue:
When Rackel Gehlsen of Rackel Gehlsen Weddings & Events considered the modern design elements and contemporary architecture at the Scottsdale Wedding Venue Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa, she thought it would be the perfect setting for a wedding design that was as timeless as it is elegant.
Rackel wanted to create a design that had both a feminine and masculine feel to it, so she chose a timeless color palette of black and white. That paved the way for her to choose a classic black tuxedo with black tie for our groom (how could you ever go wrong with that?) and a very sophisticated lace gown for our modern bride.
The tablescape Rackel created is nothing short of opulent. She started with lush, velvet linens which simply exude romance and richness. Then she added gold, black and white dinnerware in varying designs and textures to add dimension. Just imagine how they’ll sparkle when the sleek, black tapers are lit in the evening! And the gold Helix chairs from Event Rents provide sensational seating. Guests got a preview of just how sophisticated this event at the Scottsdale Wedding Venue would be with the invitations Brie Dumais of Brie Dumais Designs created in ebony black and rich gold foil.
For the outdoor ceremony site, Rackel wanted to create a sophisticated garden setting and she brilliantly succeeded with her choice of white Halo chairs and the lush floral arrangements by Andrea McKay of Garden Gate Flowers that line the aisle. Rackel wanted all of the florals, including the bride’s big, beautiful bouquet, to have a dreamy feel, and Andrea really brought that vision to life by incorporating romantic blooms like anemones, tulips, sweet peas, roses, orchids and delphiniums into her gorgeous arrangements.
Most guests attending this picturesque Scottsdale Wedding Venue would expect to be served traditional hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour and there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. But Rackel changed things up a bit by setting up a very elegantly presented doughnut bar provided by The Dapper Doughnut. How fun is that?
The smooth, sophisticated cake created by Piece of Cake with layers of black, white and gold is sitting pretty on a tablecloth covered with shiny black sequins. They’ll really sparkle at night under the light of the mini crystal chandelier.
Great wedding design is in the details, and here they came together beautifully to create a setting that is both sophisticated and timeless.
