1. How did you two meet or what was the proposal like?: We often joke about meeting the old-fashioned way – through Match. His profile picture, snuggled up with his Goldendoodle Lily, instantly caught my attention. He admitted my Halloween costume as Mary Poppins was what reeled him in. Our first date at The Thirsty Lion in Scottsdale sparked an instant connection. Though our personalities differ, our values, dreams, and goals align perfectly. Despite only three months passing, he proposed, and as they say, when it's right, you know. The proposal was incredibly thoughtful and sweet. He told me and his daughters, aged 9 and 11, that we were going to take pictures at the park and have a picnic afterward. Setting up the camera on record, he knelt down to propose. Overjoyed and surprised, I almost put the ring on myself! It was a truly amazing day, and I'm immensely grateful to have shared that special moment with my stepdaughters.
2. Were you happy with the venue?: Our venue stole our hearts at first sight. The blend of trees, mountains, and ponds against the desert backdrop and mountain vistas enchanted us. What's more, the inclusive package ensured our dream wedding stayed within budget. Kiva Club went above and beyond to ensure our special day exceeded expectations. The food was divine, and our guests couldn't stop raving about the carving station and green chili mac and cheese. A special shout-out to Katie Hart, our coordinator, who went the extra mile. Her calming presence eased my nerves as I walked down the aisle, and her dedication made our day even more memorable.
3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: The dress and venue set the tone for my garden-themed wedding. With blue and pink as my favorite colors, I chose Dusty Blue as the primary hue and Blush Pink as the secondary. Adding hints of gold complemented the palette perfectly. While I provided my vendors with inspiration images, I left the details open-ended. It was a delightful surprise to see everything come together so flawlessly on the big day.
4. What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day? I have two valuable pieces of advice that truly enriched my wedding day. First, simplicity is key. Delegate all day-of responsibilities beforehand to ensure a stress-free experience. I cherished the moments of getting ready with my mom and bridal party instead of being overwhelmed with last-minute tasks. Second, take a moment at the altar to soak in the sight of your loved ones in the audience. They've journeyed from near and far to share in your joy. Witnessing all your favorite people gathered in one place is truly incredible. While wedding planning can be daunting, the presence of your loved ones makes every effort worthwhile.
