Nicole & Daniel

Classic Romance at Lindsay Grove

1. How did you two meet or what was the proposal like?: The day after Christmas in 2016, we met super organically over Facebook Messenger, when Daniel slid into my DM’s. Although we laugh about that part now, neither of us could have expected the instant connection we would feel when we met in person a couple of weeks later. It wasn’t until we read our vows to each other at the wedding ceremony (7 years later!) that we realized how much that very first hug meant to each of us, as we both wrote about it in our vows. Daniel said it perfectly – calling it “love at first touch.”

Fast forward to September of 2022, and we have now been through a college graduation, the start of our careers, our first apartment, two fur babies, our first house, family losses, and just a lot of life in a short period of time. Daniel knew it was time for us to get out of town for an “us” day, so we planned a nice day trip to Sedona. We decided to do a morning hike on Little Horse trail (a trail I chose on a whim on the drive up), and a couple of miles in, at the top of Chicken Point, Daniel set up his “camera timer” to take a picture of us on the cliff. To my surprise, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We were cheered on by the group of people from the Jeep tour that happened to stop at the same spot and one of the tourists even captured a photo of the moment! It was so special & funny, and incredibly on brand for us; one of our favorite moments of all time.

2. Were you happy with the venue?: Lindsay Grove was the best choice we could have made for our venue. After combing through what felt like a million venues online, it was the first and ONLY venue we looked at and we fell in love with it instantly. It felt whimsical, vintage, and romantic, not to mention the amazing Wedgewood Weddings team that came along with it. That staff of girls was so beyond what we could have hoped for – so attentive, helpful, kind, understanding, creative – they truly made us feel like they cared about us as a couple rather than making a sale. The wedding food was fantastic, and we received multiple compliments from guests, including a remark of “best food I’ve ever had at a wedding.” Their teamed vendors, Stem Swag, Direct Sounds (shout out to DJ Joel!), & Piece of Cake were also phenomenal – really speaking to the competence & consideration of the Wedgewood team. Daniel and I had not hired a wedding planner, yet I never felt an ounce of stress regarding any type of actual wedding planning thanks to the Wedgwood Weddings team. Our day-of coordinator, Hailey, deserves a special shout out, as this girl was on her hands and knees trying to help my mother bustle my dress (which had 11 points on the inside of the dress)!

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: We didn’t have a true “theme” for our wedding, but we were going for a bit of a moody, romantic type of vibe. Our color scheme included dark green, sage green, and golds/browns, with touches of black. Our table settings included bud vases for centerpieces on top of a white linen tablecloth, gold charger plates, place cards, and white napkins which left a small sleeve to tuck thank you notes/guest customized menus. My favorite little touch to our table settings – the “N♥D” champagne flute charm on each glass. The sweetheart table included the same items, with the addition of a lit up “N & D” and it sat in front of our beautiful floral towers that were carried from our ceremony to the reception.

4. What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day?: Our best piece of advice to other couples would be to remember that as long as your person shows up at the end of the aisle on your wedding day and you get to say your “I do’s,” nothing can truly go wrong. Nothing else matters.
