1. How did you two meet or what was the proposal like?:
We were introduced by a mutual friend who had a feeling we’d hit it off—and he was absolutely right! Lealand started coming to our work happy hours, even though he didn’t work with us, and before long, he was there every week.
Lealand proposed on my birthday during a weeklong vacation with his family in Colorado. It was a complete surprise—he had even told my family ahead of time, so when they called, it was for more than just birthday wishes. It was absolutely perfect.
2. Were you happy with the venue?:
We were absolutely thrilled with the venue we chose. The staff was fantastic—responsive, helpful, and always ready to answer our many questions. They worked closely with us to ensure our day was not only a true reflection of who we are but also fun and affordable. Thanks to their support, we were able to add all the special touches that made our day and weekend truly unforgettable. From vendor recommendations to styling appointments, the team went above and beyond. We couldn’t have picked a better location or a more dedicated team to make our day perfect.
3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
Our wedding theme was timeless and traditional. We chose a classic black-and-white color palette, allowing the florals to take center stage. Each of us made a list of the five things we wanted most for our wedding, and thankfully, they all fit seamlessly into our traditional theme.
Some of our shared priorities were focusing on signage, stationery, and floral arrangements. This approach allowed our table settings to truly highlight the stunning floral centerpieces, which varied in size and height. Each guest was welcomed to their seat with a personalized, plated dinner, complete with a customized menu featuring their name. This detail helped set the tone for our wedding, complementing the place settings and florals to create a classic, clean, and elegant look.
4. What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day?
Make it your day. We each made lists of our non-negotiables—things we really wanted to include—and it sparked so many great conversations, allowing us to collaborate and create together. Remember, marriage is so much bigger than the wedding day itself; this day is just the celebration that sets the tone for the journey ahead. So, make it a true reflection of who you are as a couple, and set the stage for every day that follows.
