Joseph & Jessica

Tlaquepaque Village Real Wedding

1. How did you two meet or what was the proposal like?
Joey and I actually went to the same high school! We didn’t date in high school but over the summer going into senior year of college we were with mutual friends out on the town. We started talking that night and have been inseparable since. We ended up moving from Chicago to Arizona for Joeys job. We dated for 7 years before Joey popped the question. He surprised me by having a friend take me on a bike ride and he was waiting next to a lake in Scottsdale with a big sign and the entire tree decorated in flowers. He was so nervous at first all he said was “will you marry me?”

2. Were you happy with the venue?:
Yes! We loved everything about our venue. I had a vision in my head and I thought it would never come to life. When I saw everything the day of it was better then I could have imagined! It was such a unique venue I knew I loved it from the moment we saw it and it did not disappoint.

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
I wanted to have a very earthy boho chic wedding. I wanted it to feel relaxed but still look very put together. I chose loose unstructured flowers with pampas grass. I also wanted rich bold colors in jewel tones played down with neutrals. We did wood tables with gold chairs and I got so many compliments.  We also served wood fire pizza which was a hit with the guests.

4. What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day?
The most important thing is you and your significant other. I knew planning would be stressful so when we started I wrote down my intentions and would refer to these often. At the end of the day your guests won’t remember the beautiful mood flower arrangements or the hand calligraphy on your invitation. They remember how they felt. So just have fun and try to enjoy every moment.
