1. How did you two meet or what was the proposal like?: We met in New Zealand, where Luke is from. I was traveling down the North Island to meet my parents in the South Island for Christmas. My first stop was New Plymouth and I met Luke on Bumble. We met for a sunset hike and then the rest is history! I ended up living in New Zealand for 4 years until we moved to Hawaii.
Luke proposed to me during COVID lockdown. We set up our backyard for “glamping” since we didn’t get to go camping that New Zealand summer and it was the perfect day. We grilled out, sat on our roof and watched the sunset, danced around the fire pit and then he got down on one knee and proposed!
2. Were you happy with the venue?: Yes, we absolutely loved it! It was exactly what we wanted with the indoor/outdoor feel, private and stunning views! Rikki, the venue coordinator, was probably one of the best venue coordinators I have worked with. She was so responsive, easy going, helpful and accommodating.
3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: Southwest Terracotta – desert, boho vibes, with floral centerpiece with candles/votives and table number & menu.
4. What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day?: Enjoy every second of it! Don’t stress the little things and have a wedding day coordinator to handle everything for you on the day (if you don’t have a planner) because you don’t want to worry about any of the logistics on your big day.
